Please take a look at some of our most common questions and answers from students.
- 01Details for applications for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2076 semesters will be available soon.
- 02No late applications will be accepted.
- 03Last day to submit supporting documents is September 30, 2026 at 11:59pm EST. Supporting documents can be emailed to info@fondationcibpa.org. Any documents received after this date may not be considered.
- 04Only one category will be reviewed by selection committee. Should both categories be completed, the bursary committee has the right to select which category will be evaluated. NOTE FOR FINANCIAL AID ONLY - Household income totaling over $200,000 will not be considered.
- 05For Financial Aid only, household income totaling over $200,000 will not be considered.
- 06No, students who are not enrolled in a Canadian Institution are not eligible for a bursary.
- 07There has to be a demonstrable link to Italian heritage whether through one or both parents and/or grandparents and/or great-grandparents, regardless of generational degree (ie: 4th, 5th, etc.) as long as proof can be submitted. Examples: 1- Birth certificates of a member of your family 2- Marriage certificates of member of your family 3- Government issued certificates 4- Religious certificates 5- Proofs of addresses 6- Italian passports of family members or of candidate 7- Historical documents 8- Any documents that demonstrates your Italian lineage
- 08No, to qualify you must be a Canadian citizen and a resident of Quebec (as per your income tax forms.)
- 09Full-time and part-time status is only opened to university students. - Full-time student (12 or more credits per semester) during the academic school year Fall 2026-Winter 2027 - Part-time student (6 to 9 credits per semester) during the academic school year Fall 2026-Winter 2027 NOTE: Full-time status means student is attending the school year full-time in both the fall and winter semester. Part-time status means students is attending the school year in both the fall and winter semester. Examples: Student registered full-time in both fall and winter semesters = Full-time status Student registered full-time in fall semester and part-time in winter semester = Part-time status Student registered part-time in fall semester and full-time in winter semester = Part-time status Student registered part-time in both fall and winter semesters = Part-time status Student registered in only the fall semester or only the winter semester = Not eligible
- 10No, only full-time Cegep students are eligible for a bursary. Part-time status is only eligible for university students.
- 11No, only 3 year career programs are eligible for a bursary.
- 12Yes, provided you have been accepted to a full-time or part time program and meet all eligibility requirements.
- 13For University transcripts only, they must be submitted directly by the school. No University transcripts will be accepted by the students directly. Universities can send the official transcripts by email info@fondationcibpa.org or mail the transcript to the following address: Attention: CIBPA Foundation 8370, boulevard Lacordaire, office 306, Montreal, Quebec, H1R 3Y6

- 15Only, official transcripts will be accepted. Please make a request of the official transcript to your school. Unofficial transcripts/student records will be not be accepted.
- 16You must provide a letter of attestation from the university or vocational registrar confirming your enrolment in your program and specifying the faculty into which you have been accepted. You must provide a letter of attendance from the Cegep registrar confirming your enrolment in your program and specifying the faculty into which you have been accepted. Please make a request of the attestation letter or attendance letter to your school. Note that acceptance letters into the program will not be accepted.
- 17A reference letter from a professor is recommended for medical students because the academic grading system for medical degrees use Pass/Fail. A cumulative GPA will be not be able to be calculated in the masters and doctorate degrees. A reference letter from your professor will help the judges evaluate the application. Note, a reference is not obligatory, it is only recommended.
- 18No, there is no particular guideline for the essay question. There is no minimum length. We want to see your personality shine through your answers.
- 19All applicants will be notified by the beginning of November if they have been selected for a bursary or not. Bursary ceremony will take place mid-November.
- 20The bursary ceremony night will take place on November 19, 2026, at the Leonardo da Vinci Center.
