The mission of the Arbour Foundation is first and foremost to contribute to Quebec's economic growth through education. For this reason, it is important for students with no or little French skills to acquire this competence to fully participate in Quebec's society and economy. As such, during the interview process, candidates will be evaluated, among other criteria on their knowledge of French. Since French is a key element in Quebec’s cultural integration the Arbour Foundation wishes to encourage all the students with little or no knowledge of the language to take French lessons on a regular basis. To this end, the Arbour Foundation will offer French-language learning courses to selected scholars.

All applicants will be notified by the end of October if they have been selected for the scholarship or not. A ceremony will take place mid-November – details will be communicated to the recipient.

Selected finalists will be invited to an in-person interview (or virtual interview in the event of ‘force majeure’) that will take place between October 12-23, 2026, inclusively. Candidates are required to make themselves available for this period. If you are unable to attend the interview in person, your request must be justified in writing. It will be evaluated by the CIBPA Foundation which, if it deems it admissible, may allow the interview to take place virtually. The location, date, and time of the interviews will be scheduled with the finalist.

The CIBPA Foundation is responsible for selecting the recipient of the scholarship based on established criteria, the scholarship itself is offered and funded by the Arbour Foundation. Therefore, the CIBPA Foundation is not responsible for the disbursement of the funds. Any questions or concerns regarding payment should be directed to the Arbour Foundation.
